Sequent helps mobile operators and other secure element owners get the maximum return on their NFC investment. Sequent has split the conventional role of Trusted Service Management into two discrete roles, Credential Management and Secure Element Management. Credential Management is a legacy role that puts secure data on plastic cards for banks. Secure Element Management is a new role that administers access to the secure element on a mobile device, enabling the storage of many cards issued by many Credential Managers.
Sequent provides Secure Element Management (SEM) on all secure element form factors (embedded, UICC SIM, USIM, or retrofit case), and leaves credential management to the existing, well-established service providers. Splitting these roles means that secure element owners can offer the use of their mobile NFC capability to any credential issuer. It also provides secure element owners with the flexibility to purchase Secure Element Management services from an independent neutral vendor, while purchasing their SIMs – or other secure element –-from any vendor they choose.
Sequent’s neutral Secure Element Management product fulfills the NFC promise of all credentials from all issuers in all apps on all mobile devices, regardless of Credential Manager.
