Credential Issuers

Sequent’s neutral solution enables all credential issuers, including credential managers, to have access to all NFC devices. With the Sequent solution, issuers can deliver rich, branded mobile experiences that strengthen consumer relationships and credential managers are able to deliver credentials over-the-air for download without the burden of delivering a mobile customer experience.

Sequent has split the conventional role of Trusted Service Management into two discrete roles, Credential Management and Secure Element Management. Issuers are able to issue directly from their own systems or continue working with their existing bureau, to deliver credentials over-the-air to mobile devices. Legacy service providers can continue their core Credential Management role.

Sequent Secure Element Management (SEM) is a new role that requires an understanding of the mobile NFC experience and expertise in managing mobile secure elements. Sequent administers access to the secure element on a mobile device, enabling storage of many cards issued by many Credential Managers. Sequent SEM never sees any user’s personal data, it only enables usage of the data by app developers and apps. SEM works with all secure element form factors.

Sequent offers standards-based implementations that provide build/buy options to credential issuers who wish to connect to the Sequent system. Issuers can choose to purchase the Sequent Issuer Enterprise Plug-in or buy Sequent APIs if they wish to build it themselves.
